Mia Carrillo

Development Manager

Mia Carrillo is a multigenerational resident of La Plata County and a proud first-generation

college graduate from Colorado State University, where she earned her degree in Journalism &

Media Communication with a minor in Criminology and Criminal Justice. While at CSU, she led

nonprofit outreach focused on harm and risk reduction around sexual health, alcohol, and

cannabis use—work rooted in empathy, impact, and community collaboration. She also brings

experience in marketing and social media strategy, with a passion for connecting people

through purposeful storytelling.

When she’s off the clock, you’ll find Mia painting by numbers (masterpieces, minus the stress),

sipping on a matcha, or binging her favorite 2000s rom-coms and reality TV—13 Going on 30

and The Bachelor are elite. Add some hot wings, and it’s the perfect day.
