Angela Fountain
Board Member
Angela Fountain was born and raised in Durango, and her love for this community runs deep. She has dedicated her career to supporting youth and families in La Plata County, serving as the 4-H Youth Development Specialist for the past five years. Prior to that, she led as the 4-H Program Coordinator for ten years, shaping programs that empower young people to become leaders, problem-solvers, and engaged citizens.
Angela holds a bachelor's degree in Sociology with a minor in Criminology from Fort Lewis College and a master’s degree in Extension Education from Colorado State University. Her educational background, paired with her hands-on experience, has made her a strong advocate for youth development and community-based support systems.
In 2025, Angela was honored as one of the Women's Resource Center’s Extraordinary Women—a reflection of her commitment to creating spaces where girls, women, and families feel seen, supported, and safe. Whether through mentoring youth, volunteering, or building programs that address local needs, Angela is driven by a deep sense of purpose and compassion.
She is excited to serve on the Women’s Resource Center Board and contribute to its mission of empowering women and strengthening families. Angela believes that when we lift each other up, our whole community rises—and she is proud to be part of that work every day.
