When you make a donation to the Women’s Resource Center of
Durango, you’re helping us make a big difference in the lives
of women and their families. Here’s how your contributions
make a difference in our community:
- $40
Membership. Helps four women obtain vouchers for the Food
Bank or a thrift store for clothing.
- $75. Provides a
woman facing divorce with an information packet, support, and referrals
to attorneys and/or “do-it-yourself” divorce
clinics.
- $100.
Helps two unemployed women with career counseling,
résumé writing, and job-search skills.
- $250.
Allows 30 eighth-graders to attend Girls to Women, Women to Girls
Conference to support their transition from middle school to high
school.
- $500. Provides five
families with assistance through Advocacy for La Plata to develop
self-sufficiency plans that include affordable housing, clothing, food,
job-search assistance, education, health care, and other services.
- $1,000.
Provides one non-custodial father with
one-on-one counseling to develop better parenting skills and a plan for
resuming child-support payments.
- $2,500. Helps one
homeless mother and her daughter find a home, transportation and job to
become self-sufficient.
- $5,000. Provides one
woman entrepreneur with free business consultation through Fort Lewis
College’s Small Business Development Center and a microloan
to start or expand her own business to provide her with economic
self-sufficiency.
