Extraordinary Woman Awards
The Women's Resource Center Board of Directors seeks nominations for its 2012 Extraordinary Woman Award. Nomination deadline is 4 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 13.

The Extraordinary Woman Award was first established in 2009 as part of Girls Night Out. After receiving feedback from our membership regarding the award in 2010, the board decided to modify the award, the nomination and selection process, and honor the award-winner in March during Women's History Month.

This year, the Women's Resource Center will honor one woman at the 25th anniversary and awards luncheon scheduled for 11:30 a.m. on Friday, March 23, location to be announced.

The Extraordinary Woman Award will honor one woman who:
  • Demonstrates leadership and is steadfastly devoted in her efforts to effect positive change in the community.
  • Is an inspiring role model for women and girls in the community.
  • Works tirelessly to advance women's rights, equality and self-sufficiency in La Plata County. 
The Selection Process

Women’s Resource Center Extraordinary Women Award Selection Process:
  • The Extraordinary Award Selection committee will be comprised of WRC board representatives, WRC members and WRC staff.The committee will review all nominations and choose the top three finalists who best fit the criteria. 
  • The top three finalists will be reviewed by the WRC Board of Directors.The WRC Board of Directors will select the winner of the 2012 Extraordinary Women Award.
  • The 2012 Extraordinary Woman Award winner will be notified before the luncheon and the winner will be honored at the Awards Luncheon on March 23.
