On October 8-9, WRC's fundraiser Run
with Purpose (2005) culminated with our dedicated
runners and walkers taking part in one (or more) of the four
races featured during the Durango Double - A Festival for
runners. Their support was in the works for weeks as they
solicited pledges from family and friends for every mile they
run or walk. We can't thank them enough for going the extra
mile for WRC while meeting their own fitness goals!
WRC is also fortunate to have the support of dozens of other
individuals who elected to give a monetary donation instead
of running. They are part of TEAM WRC and are equal partners
in this successful fundraiser. Many area businesses also pitched
in to provide wonderful prizes for the five runners/walkers
who collected the most pledges. Those winners were: Debra
Parmenter, Gail Aalund, Linda West, Julie Ward and Sue Griffith.
Lastly, we thank our official sponsors for their generous
financial and in-kind donations. Their support speaks volumes
about the value of WRC's programs and services.
