Arghhh! Pirates with Booty ran
away with the Pigskin Award for
best halftime appetizer
a variety of grilled chicken wings.

Wearing leopard-print garb
and dishing up Texas-style pork
loin, the Cave Men nabbed both Judges Choice and 1st place
for Theme/Costumes.

The Fruits and Nuts team grilled
(and donned) fruit to earn the
Look at Me Award for
showmanship and attitude.

Local suburban rock band, the Lawn Chair Kings kept the
crowd going as they sampled delectables from 12 different
grill teams

Approximately 375 people turned out to support WRC at our
annual Men Who Grill fun-raiser on Saturday, June 3, 2006
more than twice the number who attended the first Men Who
Grill event two years ago! Attendees sampled everything from
"smoked armadillo" to mini-burgers, grilled pineapple
to bacon-wrapped shrimp with jalapenos and okra. Seedy-looking
"Pirates" dished up "Parrot Wings," and
men in beards down to their chests served "road kill."
New this year, the event featured live music from local suburban
rock band, the Lawn Chair Kings! Men Who Grill raised $6,200
for WRC programs and services. The Center thanks all who helped
make this event a phenomenal success!
