Individual Memberships & Donations

The Women’s Resource Center is a membership-based organization that relies on annual dues to support its operations. Our individual and corporate membership programs serve as a base for financial and volunteer support. Scholarships are available for individuals who wish to join but cannot afford the annual dues. You’ll also benefit from discounts and other offers from individual and corporate members.

And when you become a member of the Women’s Resource Center, you not only help to Empower Women and Change Lives, but you also receive member-to-member discounts, opportunities to post announcements about your business on our Web site, and announce special events in our weekly e-newsletter News You Can Use. How your membership empowers women:

When you become a member, you help women and families find the resources they need to:

Feed, shelter and clothe themselves and their families
Obtain adequate health care
Learn how to write an effective résumé and conduct a successful job search
Find appropriate job training or educational opportunities
Connect with a mentor to write a business plan
And connect with other women for support and companionship

Take A.M. who had a heart attack at the age of 50. She was working at a local grocery store. Fortunately, she had some health insurance to help with medical expenses. What she didn’t have was enough dental insurance to take care of her teeth. The heart attack caused bone loss in her upper jaw, and her teeth were beginning to abscess. She couldn’t afford the $3,700 cost for extractions, and the infections were threatening her recovery. If she couldn’t recover, she couldn’t keep her job. We applied for a grant from the A.V. Hunter Trust Foundation in Denver, which provides funds to help the working poor cover medical, dental, and vision expenses. In addition, we referred A.M. to Womenade to cover the balance of the dental bill. She received enough money to address her dental issues, and it literally saved her life. Today, A.M. is happy, healthy, and smiles a lot with her new set of dentures. And she continues to work and support herself in Durango.

Are you a Colorado state employee?

If you are, you can easily designate your charitable contribution to the Women’s Resource Center through the Colorado Combined Campaign. As a state employee, you can make your pledge to WRC through a payroll deduction, cash, check or credit card.
